The Philippine Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, through its consular officers, can notarize documents signed by individuals that will be used or presented in the Philippines. Sample templates for common legal instruments are provided in the 'downloads' section of this website for customization and reference.

 What are the types of notarization of documents for use in the Philippines?

 The Philippine Embassy provides the following notarial services:

  1. Acknowledgment (documents presented and to be signed at the Philippine Embassy such as Special Powers of Attorney, General Powers of Attorney, Deeds of Sale, Deeds of Donation, Contracts, SSS/GSIS forms, Extrajudicial Settlement, etc.); and 
  1. Jurat (documents such as Affidavits of Support and Consent, Invitation Letters, Parental Travel Permits, Complaints, Applications for Marriage License and Oaths of Professionals)

 What are the requirements for notarization of documents to be used in the Philippines?

  1. Acknowledgment (documents presented and to be signed at the Philippine Embassy such as Special Powers of Attorney, General Powers of Attorney, Deeds of Sale, Deeds of Donation, Contracts, SSS/GSIS forms, Extrajudicial Settlement, etc.)
  • Personal appearance of the signatory or signatories is a requirement for notarization. 
  • Original and one (1) photocopy of the unsigned document; Document should be signed in front of the Consular Officer.
  • One (1) Original government issued ID with one (1) photocopy, as supporting document to the document to be consularized.  The government ID should be valid and should support the claim of citizenship on the document; 
  • Two (2) instrumental witnesses are required to sign at the foot of the instrument and on the left margin of the other pages onsite in the Philippine Embassy or  Consulate General in front of the Consular Officer;
  • Processing fee of USD25 (Cash only)
  • Processing time is two days from date of application. However, the applicant may apply to expedite the processing of the document for an additional fee of USD10.The document will be released on the same day of application.  

 IMPORTANT REMINDER:

There is no photocopying service in the Philippine Embassy. Applicants are responsible for the submission of photocopies of their documents for notarization/consularization. 

  1. For Jurat (documents such as Affidavits of Support and Consent, Invitation Letters, Parental Travel Permits, Complaints, Applications for Marriage License and Oaths of Professionals):
  • Personal appearance of the signatory or signatories is a requirement for notarization. 
  • Original and one (1) photocopy of the unsigned document; Document should be signed in front of the Consular Officer.
  • One (1) Original government issued ID with one (1) photocopy, as supporting document to the document to be consularized.  The government ID should be valid and should support the claim of citizenship on the document; and
  • Processing fee of USD25 (Cash only)
  • Processing time is two days from date of application. However, the applicant may apply to expedite the processing of the document for an additional fee of USD10.The document will be released on the same day of application.  
  • Note: The Consular Officer reserves the right to request other documents that may be necessary for the consularization of the applicant’s document.

 How long does the notarial service take?

 RELEASING TIME: 

  • Regular Processing: Processing time is two (2) days from date of application.
  • Expedite Processing: The applicant may apply to expedite the processing of the document for an additional fee of USD10.The document will be released on the same day of application.
  • Release of documents by representative or by courier. Applicants who are not able to return to the PCG to secure their consularized documents can authorize a representative to retrieve it for them, so long as the representative shows proof of their identity and an authorization letter from the applicant.
  • For release of documents via courier, applicants can arrange for a private courier to secure their documents at their own expense. The Philippine Embassy assumes no responsibility for any delay, loss or damage in the mail or while the documents are in custody of courier service. The applicant should note the tracking numbers of all envelopes used and submitted.

Does the Embassy accept documents for notarization by mail or is personal appearance required?

Applicant’s personal appearance is required to avail of the Embassy's notarial services. All parties signing the documents must personally appear at the Embassy or Consulate.

However, the Attorney-in-Fact for Special Powers of Attorney is not required to appear before the consular officials, and may sign after the receipt of the document. - End.
