The Embassy of the Philippines in Ankara, Türkiye, is currently looking for qualified candidates for the Temporary Position of Embassy Translator/Interpreter on a 3-month contract from September to November 2022.

The main responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Provide interpretation and translation services to the Embassy;
  • Perform clerical tasks to support the Embassy’s programs, activities, and projects;
  • Support the Embassy’s coordination with public and private Turkish authorities, other Embassies, and International Organizations, with timely communication and follow-ups of documents, meetings, and other official requests; and
  • As instructed, research and assist in obtaining information on economic, political, cultural, consular, and labor-related matters/issues/topics.

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Fully bilingual in English and Turkish (oral and written);
  • Four-year university degree, preferably in English Language and Literature, American Culture and Literature, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, English Translation, and Interpretation, or other relevant courses;
  • At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience;
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, motivation, dependability, flexibility, determination, and a strong work ethic;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; and
  • Good moral character.
