TBILISI, 09 September 2021 – Philippine Ambassador to Georgia,  Maria Elena P. Algabre, presented her credentials to Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili at the Orbeliani Presidential Palace in Tbilisi, on 03 September 2021.

Ambassador Algabre relayed to President Zourabichvili the warm greetings of President Rodrigo Duterte and  the people of the Philippines.  She  underlined the wish of the Philippines to sustain and enhance the close relations between  the Philippines and Georgia.  In response, President Zourabichvili   sent her  greetings to President  Duterte and the Filipino people.  She  particularly thanked  the Philippine Government for sending a female envoy to Georgia.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Algabre attended the reception hosted by Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani for the 24 non-resident Ambassadors who presented their letters of credentials to the President on the same day.

Ambassador Algabre took the opportunity to thank the Georgian government for hosting some 20 Filipinos in Georgia and the Filipinos tourists visiting Georgia.  She expressed the Philippines' readiness in enhancing the friendly relations with Georgia and exploring areas of cooperation between the two countries.##
