ANKARA, 30 August 2021 - Officials from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) based in Beirut, Lebanon, rendered labor-related services to OFWs in Turkey at the Philippine Embassy in Ankara on 27-28 August 2021.
Filipinos based in Ankara and those who traveled from other cities/provinces like Istanbul and Adana had their employment contracts verified and their OWWA memberships processed by Labor Attaché Atty. Alejandro A. Padaen, Welfare Officer Ms. Mary Catherine O. Pastor and POLO-OWWA Lebanon’s Administrative Officer Ms. Maria Emelita M. Jose.

As valued members of Team Philippines in Turkey, POLO-OWWA officials discussed the overseas employment program and workers’ welfare/benefits in a presentation-meeting with overseas Filipinos (OFs) at the Embassy on 27 August 2021. During the open forum, OFs raised questions and concerns on employment contract verification, issuance of overseas employment certificate (OEC), the renewal of employment contracts, how returning OFWs can avail of free quarantine/RT-PCR (swab) testing on arrival in the Philippines, and OWWA benefits for members and dependents.
