KASTAMONU, 22 February 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara donated on 21 February 2022 books on the Philippines to Turkey’s Kastamonu University (KU) for inclusion in its library collection.
Among the books which Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Maria Elena P. Algabre handed over to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal of KU were “Bucket List Philippines” by Eastgate Publishing with support by the Tourism Promotion Board, “Aspirations and Inspirations (Filipino Women Entrepreneurs)” by Jessica Zafra, “The Sea (and its Transformations in Cebuano Literature)” by Hope Sabanpan-Yu, and “Revolution” by Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, which is part of the Anthology of ASEAN Literatures.
Ambassador Algabre is joined by Commissioner Dr. Aldrin Darilag of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and other academic officials from the Philippines during a meeting with Vice Prof. Dr. Rahmi Er of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and KU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal
During the handover ceremony, Ambassador Algabre, Commissioner Dr. Aldrin Darilag of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and academic officials from the Philippines met with Vice President Prof. Dr. Rahmi Er of Turkey’s Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and officials from KU to discuss closer cooperation between the Philippines and Turkey in the field of education.
The handover ceremony was held after the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Conference on Environment and Forest Conservation (ICEFC) held on 21–23 February 2022 at Kastamonu University. ##
