ANKARA 17 March 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara co-organized a webinar on “Business opportunities in New Clark City/Philippines” on 16 March 2022, together with the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) and the Turkish Contractors Association (TCA), which discussed infrastructure projects in New Clark City with Turkish contracting companies.

“Today’s meeting brings together Turkish expertise and Philippine investment opportunities to deepen ties and promote economic activities that generate employment and livelihood for both our peoples,” said Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Maria Elena P. Algabre.

Mr. Erdal Eren, TCA President, and BCDA officials, namely, Mr. Joshua Bingcang, Senior Vice President, Mr. Mark Torres, Vice President and Mr. Ryan Galura, Officer-in-Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. , were the webinar’s main speakers.

BCDA introduced upcoming construction projects, including three road projects with a total cost of PHP3.22 billion or over USD60 million. To highlight projects participated by foreign investors, BCDA also presented recently completed projects such as the access roads from Clark International Airport to New Clark City, and projects currently under construction such as the Clark International Airport New Terminal Building and National Academy of Sports (NAS).

At the open forum, discussions revolved around the ways for foreign investors to participate in infrastructure projects, whether the Philippines has a single-window for foreign investors’ transactions, incentives for investors, and details of the projects presented, including timeline and budget.

Around 30 Turkish construction and engineering companies, and officials from the Turkish Ministry of Trade attended the webinar. ##
