BAKU, 26 April 2022 - The Philippine Embassy in Ankara continued its series of consular missions for the year with a two-day outreach from 23 to 24 April 2022 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

“The Embassy is here to provide consular services for our Filipinos in Azerbaijan and to encourage registered overseas voters to exercise their right to vote,” said Ambassador Maria Elena P. Algabre to the Filipinos who availed of Embassy services.

The Embassy team rendered various consular services, which include passport applications and renewals, processing of reports of birth and marriage, notarial services, and visa applications, while Embassy officials deputized by the Philippine Commission on Elections (COMELEC) conducted mobile voting for overseas voters in Azerbaijan for the 2022 National Elections.

There are at least  350 Filipinos in Azerbaijan, which is under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Turkey, with the Philippine Ambassador accredited on a non-residence basis from Ankara.

The Embassy will continue providing consular services with mobile voting to Filipinos in the Turkish provinces of Adana (30 April 2022), Hatay (01 May 2022), and Antalya (07–08 May 2022), and will also distribute ballots to Filipinos under its Certified List of Overseas Voters based in Istanbul on 04 May 2022.##
