ANKARA, 12 May 2022 – The Philippine Embassy held a cooking demonstration of favorite Filipino dishes for the student-members of the Bilkent Gastronomy Society on 11 May 2022 at the practice kitchen of the University’s Department of Tourism and Hotel and Management (THM).
Volunteer chefs from the Embassy prepared homecooked style adobong manok (chicken stew in vinegar and soy sauce) as an entrée and buko pandan ( buko is coconut, while pandan is a tropical aromatic plant) for dessert.

The featured volunteer chefs were Mr. Clark Joseph Galang, Attaché, and Mrs. Elizabeth Villamin, spouse of Mr. Francis Villamin, Attaché. They shared their recipes using ingredients that are available in Turkish supermarkets or Asian stores in Turkey.

After the cooking demonstration, the students were invited to the nearby Le Piment Rouge, the practice restaurant of the Bilkent THM, for a generous sampling of adobong manok, buko pandan, and Cordillera single-origin coffee from Yagam Coffee, a roaster based in Benguet, Philippines.
