ANKARA, 23 September 2022 – Ambassador Maria Elena P. Algabre met with Mr. Murat Duru, Governor of the Çankaya District in Ankara, on 22 September 2022, and discussed the potential collaboration of the Philippine Embassy with the Office of the District Governor to promote cultural, tourism, and business exchanges between the Philippines and Türkiye. The Ambassador also conveyed her appreciation to Governor Duru for the hospitality extended to the Embassy, and to Filipinos living and working in Çankaya.

Governor Duru was recently appointed as District Governor of Çankaya, Ankara. Çankaya is the central metropolitan district of the Turkish capital city and the administrative district of Ankara Province. It is home to government buildings and foreign embassies in Türkiye, as well as the majority of Filipino migrants in Ankara.##
