ANKARA, 28 September 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Türkiye Maria Elena P. Algabre met with the Mr. Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (Yurtdışı Türkler ve Akraba Topluluklar or YTB), on 27 September 2022 to discuss strengthening Philippine-Turkish educational ties.

“Education is one area in the Philippines-Türkiye bilateral relations that is currently most active,” according to Ambassador Algabre. “It enhances people-to-people relations and promotes camaraderie and understanding between our two countries,” she continued.

The Ambassador thanked Mr. Eren for the assistance provided to 46 YTB Filipino scholars in Türkiye who are currently enrolled in the undergraduate, masters, and doctorate study programs. She also congratulated YTB for a successful 11th International Students Graduation Ceremony in July 2022 in Gölbaşi, wherein two (2) Filipino students graduated with master’s degrees in International Relations and History.
