Ankara, 17 November 2022-- On her visit to Eskişehir last 21 October , Ambassador to Türkiye Maria Elena P. Algabre, with Consul General Juan E. Dayang, Jr. and Attaché Vanesa T. Sumera, met with Governor Erol Ayyildiz, and Mayor Yilmaz Büyükersen to explore potential cooperation on tourism, business, education, and culture.

One of Türkiye’s most progressive cities, Eskişehir is a historic cultural and trade center with a strategic railway system connecting Ankara and Istanbul via a speed train. The district of Odunpazari is included in the UNESCO Tentative World Cultural Heritage List. The city is also is also known as a university town. The Embassy team expressed gratitude to the Governor and Mayor for the warm hospitality accorded to Filipinos living in Eskişehir, particularly Filipino students at the city’s Anadolu University under the sponsorship of the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
