IZMIR, 16 December 2022 — The Philippine Embassy in Ankara joined the Christmas festivities of the Filipino community in Izmir at the Santa Maria Catholic Church on 15 December 2022.

A Filipino community mass service was held followed by a short program of musical renditions and lunch prepared by the community members. In his message, Consul General Juan E. Dayang, Jr. called for unity among the Filipino community members. He encouraged them to strengthen bonds with their family back home in the Philippines. He further affirmed that the Embassy would continue to provide timely and responsive services to the community in Izmir.

Around 140 Filipinos reside and work in Izmir, a majority of whom are women. ##
