ANKARA, 11 April 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Türkiye Maria Elena P. Algabre met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu during her farewell call at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Ankara on 10 April 2023.
Ambassador Algabre conveyed her gratitude to Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu for all the support extended to her and the Embassy by the Turkish government, through the MFA, during her tour of duty in Türkiye. She also reiterated the Philippines’ solidarity with Türkiye following the massive earthquakes last February and expressed confidence that the country would rebuild itself stronger.
Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu thanked Ambassador Algabre for her invaluable contribution to enhancing Philippine-Turkish bilateral relations, as well as for the assistance extended to Türkiye by the Philippine government after the devastating earthquakes in the country’s southern provinces.
Ambassador Algabre is the 10th resident Ambassador of the Philippines in Türkiye. ##
