Cankaya, Ankara, 24 April 2023-- The Philippine Embassy and Sentro Rizal Ankara, led by Chargé d’affaires a.i. Juan E. Dayang Jr., celebrated Türkiye’s celebration of its annual National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, with its participation at Cankaya Municipality’s opening ceremony of its week-long activities on 24 April 2023.
Kindergarten students from Çankaya performed at the opening, which was attended by Municipality officials, Diplomatic Mission representatives, and other visitors. Cankaya Deputy Mayor K. Gülsün Bor Güner and Mr. Umut Berker Sevilmiş, Director for Foreign Relations, graced the event. The children were given a Philippine cultural immersion activity by introducing the colorful Philippine Jeepney, which includes a video presentation, 3D Jeepney paper crafts, a jeepney photo booth, and a sampling of Philippine sweet treats pulvoron and chocnut candies.
