IZMIR, 29 May 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara delivered consular services to the Filipino community in Izmir during its third outreach mission for the year on 21 May 2023. Consular services included passport renewal applications, dual citizenship applications, notarial services, and overseas voter registration for the upcoming Philippine national mid-term elections in 2025.  Representatives from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Lebanon were also present to provide employment contract services to community members.

The consular mission also hosted a kapihan, where the Embassy gave a short overview of its Assistance-To-Nationals (ATN) and consular services, the need to follow local rules and regulations of Turkiye, general information and obligations regarding passports and civil registration, the benefits of obtaining a PH dual citizenship, and the upcoming 2025 elections. MWO Lebanon and OWWA gave a brief overview of their services, creation of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and the importance and primacy of their employment contracts.

On the previous evening 20 May 2023, the Embassy team was hosted by the United Filipinos in Izmir (UFI) community organization at a dinner where Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Juan E. Dayang, Jr. was the Guest of Honor and swore in the newly elected UFI officers.

The Embassy previously conducted a consular mission in Izmir last year on 09 December 2022. ##
