ANKARA, 02 August 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara, represented by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Juan E. Dayang, Jr. joined the ASEAN Ankara Committee (AAC) Heads of Mission in a meeting with H.E. İbrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye, and key government officials on 02 August 2023.

CDA Dayang, Jr. thanked Minister Yumaklı for hosting the AAC and hoped for greater cooperation between the Philippines and Türkiye in addressing food efficiency and food security within the ASEAN framework. CDA Dayang, Jr. further noted that the counterpart of Minister Yumaklı in the Philippines is President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the concurrent chief of the Department of Agriculture.

During the meeting, participating ASEAN Member States and Minister Yumaklı discussed possible projects and areas of cooperation in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

On 06 February 2018, the Philippines and Türkiye signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on Agricultural Cooperation. ##
